Ph D in Medical Sciences with Summa cum Laude distinction: 1998-2003,at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Cluj-Napoca, entitled: “The contribution of lower digestive endoscopy in initial evaluation, monitoring and therapy of pediatric colopathies. Clinical and pathologic correlations.” Tutor: Professor Nicolae Miu. It was the 1st and largest Romanian study regarding the contribution of colonoscopy in Pediatrics and the colonic disorders in children, with many original findings.

- December 2008 – September 2009: work in the capacity of a senior research preceptorship in the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Research Centre at McGill University, direct supervisor: Professor Ernest Seidman

 

- 1999: as part of the ERASMUS-SOCRATES Program, through an earned scholarship, a 4 month clerkship, for my PhD thesis, at the Gastroenterology and Nutrition Department, “Necker – Enfants Malades” Hospital, Paris (France), Professor Jacques Schmitz

- bowel diseases (acute and chronic colitides – inflammatory bowel diseases, lower and mid-gastrointestinal bleeding, polyps and polyposis, chronic constipation); first publication in the world literature of the rectal pyogenic granuloma in children in 2000; first publications in the Romanian Pediatric literature of leukocytoclastic vasculitis masquerading as inflammatory bowel disease, cytomegalovirus colitis in ulcerative colitis, a series of colorectal polyps in children, hyperplastic colonic polyp in children, rectal mucosal prolapse syndrome associated with pyogenic granuloma, clinical, endoscopic, biologic, histological characteristics of ulcerative colitis patients, as well as psycho-social aspects; first Romanian monograph on pediatric inflammatory bowel disease
