Dr Colin D Ferrie is a Consultant Paediatric Neurologist based at the Leeds General Infirmary. He trained in Manchester, Edinburgh and Guy’s Hospital,
London. He has been based in Leeds since 1996. He was a research fellow in epilepsy at Guy’s Hospital in London where he undertook an MD on the role of
PET scanning in the investigation of children with epileptic encephalopathies. His main research interest currently is the benign focal epilepsies of childhood,
especially Panayiotopoulos syndrome, typical absence epilepsies and febrile seizures.
He is currently National Training Advisor in Paediatric Neurology to the RCPCH and BPNA, Treasurer of the Joint Neurosciences Council (JNC) and
secretary to the Committee of National Advisors (CNA).
